Undoubtedly the last three years have been a difficult period for many of us, with the endless lockdowns, never-ending restrictions, and social distancing due to the pandemic. Despite all that, nothing is more healing for the body, mind, and soul than an invigorating mountain bike adventure deep into the mountainous woods far away from the energy-sapping hum-drum of the city. Nature has incredible healing and therapeutic powers to make us feel whole and complete.
Feeling down and depressed? Get out and ride your mountain bike! It’s that simple. Single-track and bunny-hop your way down a forested trail to blow those cobweb blues away. With every pedal stroke, feel yourself connect with the natural surroundings and become one with the natural world–the world you were intended to be in. Not only will your mind thank you for it, but you will feel rejuvenated and ready to tackle whatever life throws at you. So get motivated, get out there, and ride your troubles away!
I drew inspiration from my years riding the many challenging and exciting North Shore trails of Vancouver, British Columbia. Being dwarfed by the giant cedars and the damp, moss-carpeted forest are some of the things that come to mind.
